Choose Silence
I made this app because I realized I was filling every spare moment with content - music, podcasts, video feeds - anything to avoid quiet.
This isn't an app that blocks websites or locks you out of other apps. Instead, it just helps you practice saying "no" to the constant noise.
It’s simple: Tap to start a session when you want some time away from content. The app plays silence in the background (or white noise if you prefer), which means other audio can't play. If you open YouTube or start a podcast, the session ends.
You'll see your daily and weekly totals—how many sessions you did, how much time you spent choosing quiet over content.
Why this approach:
Blocking apps can be useful, but they don't really help you build the discipline to resist on your own. This is more like building a new habit: recognizing the urge to fill silence, and sometimes choosing not to.
It's for anyone who feels like they've lost the ability to just... sit with their own thoughts. Or take a walk without earbuds. Or be in a room without something playing.
Start where you are. A few minutes here and there makes a difference.
